Works of Art

Born in Geneva, he was painting enamel miniatures up to 1812. He has been confused with Joseph Coteau (1740 – 1801). A ‘Coteau’ is recorded as working at the royal manufactory at Sèvres from 1780 till 1784, where he perfected a method of gilding and applying translucent enamels to soft paste.
