Fyt or Fijt, baptised on 15 March 1611 in Antwerp, and listed in the Antwerp guild in 1620/1 as the pupil of H. van der Berch. He was subsequently described as the pupil of Snyders from 1629 to 1631.
In 1633-4 he was in Paris whence he travelled to Italy, working in Venice and probably visiting Rome. By 1641 he had returned to Antwerp where he married in 1654 and where he died on 11 September 1661. He occasionally collaborated with figure painters.
