Joos van der Beke, Joos van Cleef; a Master in the Antwerp guild in 1511. Probably between 1529 and 1534 (when he is not mentioned at Antwerp), he was summoned to the French court, where he painted portraits of François I and his queen Eléanore. He died in Antwerp. His self-portrait is at Hampton Court.
