Henri Bodson (active between: 1763-1789)

H.Bodson was apprenticed in Paris to the royal goldsmith François-Thomas Germain in 1755 when he was working in the galeries du Louvre, Germain also sponsored him when he became maser in 1763. By 1766 he is recorded on the pont Notre-Dame where he appeas to have remained until he left Paris in 1781. He returned to the city in the 1787 and is listed at the rue de la Vieille Monnaie until 1789, but is not recorded in the following year. Relatively few boxes are known by Bodson and the majority appear to have been set with miniatures.
