Warin was a French sculptor, medalist and painter who made important innovations in the process of minting coins. He was one of the most eminent French medalists and a sculptor of considerable reputation during the first half of the 17th century. Warin was one of the great masters of the medal in France, he was also active as a painter of portraits and mythological subjects but none are known to have survived. He trained in the Liége workshop of his father.
