A.-L. Cassé was apprenticed in Paris to Charles César Haudry in 1737 and became master in 1763 when he was sponsored by his brother, Louis-Guillaume Cassé, He was living at the rue St Anne but moved to the sign of the Golden Jewel on the pont Notre-Dame in 1768.
