  • Rear saddle steel, made in one piece, embossed with three ovals panels containing scenes showing Fortune (left), Europa and the Bull (centre) and Neptune (right) in a car drawn by dolphins; between are winged figures and at either end mermaids; chased and counterfeit-damascened in silver and several different colours of gold on a darkened or fire-gilt ground, the borders decorated with scrollwork; the borders of the ends and upper edges are flanged, but not roped, and there are numerous rivets and holes for fixing; the left side has been broken and later repaired.
