  • Horse muzzle, of blackened steel, composed of a framework lightly filled in with foliated tracery, trefoils and acorns. In the centre formed of openwork numerals is the date 1564. A steel lizard is applied in the front, being fixed in position by a protruding acorn. At the top are three buckles for the headstall. The chevron-shaped bars at the back of the basket are joined by chains.

A comparable muzzle is in the Kienbusch collection, now in the Philadelphia Museum of Art (cat., no. 233, pI. LXXXI).
