  • Horse muzzle, comprised of a steel framework to which are attached, by brass-headed rivets, openwork panels of brass elaborately pierced and chased with patterns of foliage and monsters, not unlike those on A451. The centre of the upper panel is pierced with a double-headed eagle and the date 1578. Lower down is a winged monster rampant and crowned, fixed by a protruding steel acorn to the central bar. Along the upper edge is hung a row of seventeen small brass acorns which dangle from staples; there were originally twenty-six of these pendants. There are three buckles for the headstall at the top, and the two chevron bars of the basket are joined by a chain.
