  • Rapier, the swept, gilt steel hilt made up of an oviform pommel, with extended button, the entire surface decorated with hollow facets with four oval panels in relief; wire-bound grip of oval section; straight crossguard finishing with faceted, olive-shaped knobs; triple ring-guard, hilt-arms, loop and knuckle-guard of oval section, faceted, the centres of all the main bars decorated with fluted olive-shaped knobs and triple transverse bars on the inner side. The associated double-edged blade is of flattened hexagonal section, triply fluted at the forte; strong ricasso with two shallow grooves.
