  • Parrying dagger, made up of a faceted cylindrical pommel with turned button; spirally fluted, wire-bound grip; curved guard with outward bend, of octagonal section and thickening towards the ends; square escutcheon, or block; side-ring; the whole of plain steel formerly blued; blade of diamond section ridged, fluted and pierced, the ricasso flattened on one side for the thumb.
