  • Spear, with a very long narrow head or blade of flattened diamond section with three notches at the base; socket with ten facets wrought in one piece with the blade. Modern staff with two side-straps, and round ferrule with square spike. The blade is stamped at the base between the notches with six stars, probably the maker's mark.

    Made c. 1550. There is, at present, no evidence for the nationality of this weapon.
