  • This is a mid-nineteenth-century imitation of a pier glass from the Régence period. It hangs in the Study at Hertford House.
    Henry James visited the Wallace Collection in 1906 and had it photographed by A.C.Coburn and reproduced as the frontispiece of the 1908-9 New York edition of his novel, 'The Spoils of Poynton'.
