  • The Chimney-piece in the Front State Room appears to be a made-up piece, possibly prepared by a monumental mason to be fitted in Hertford House between 1872-5. The plaque of Diana is finely carved and is perhaps taken from an eighteenth-century chimney-piece in the style of William Kent.
