  • One of a pair of figures, both in the Wallace Collection, signed by Ferdinando Tacca, who eventually inherited the workshop in Florence established by Giambologna. They bear the arms of Alberico II Cibo, 1st Duke of Massa, and in 1662 were inventoried in the Palace chapel at Massa (near Carrara in Tuscany). The figures were used as candlesticks and, together with another pair, were conceived as part of an elaborate Calvary group for the chapel.
