  • These two fragments were cut from either a wine-bottle or ice-cream cooler, maybe because the piece was damaged. While the painted flowers were part of the original decoration, the ground colour, gilding, and factory marks on the back were applied at a later stage, probably in England. Like other similar pieces, they may have been intended to be mounted in gilt-bronze.
