  • Place of Birth: Amsterdam, The Netherlands
  • Place of Death: Amsterdam, The Netherlands
Works of Art

He was baptised in Amsterdam in February 1628. Little is known of his life. Between 1653 and 1656 he was in Switzerland and, possibly, Italy; he was living in Amsterdam in 1658, and there are dated works from 1657 to 1685.

He made some landscape etchings, but is best known for his Italianate or wooded landscapes, which reflect the influences of Jan Both, and Jan Asselijn, without altogether maintaining the consistent quality of those masters.
