  • Estoc, or ‘tuck’, comprising a flattened spherical pommel (with button), chiselled with three cockle shells; shouldered grip of wood bound with black leather; horizontally recurved crossguard of circular section ending in knobs chiselled like the pommel; strong, stiff blade of hollow triangular section, and a maker's mark on one side. There is a leather washer at the base of the blade for easing the contact of the hilt when it was returned to the scabbard.
