  • Primer, of gilt copper, shaped as a flattened pear with sides stepped, the front embossed with a circular medallion of Marcus Curtius leaping into the pit, the back decorated with strapwork arabesques; the two sides joined by a band embossed with ornamental cartouches containing faceted pyramids to represent precious stones; the whole embossed, chiselled and gilt; funnel with spring-cap; two rings for suspension.
