Biography

Born in Geneva, the great-nephew of Jacques-Antoine and Benjamin Arlaud. He was the pupil of Liotard in Geneva before going to Paris where he studied under Vien, the neo-classic history painter. He spent the years 1792 to 1802 in England, then returned to Geneva. He died in Prél’Evêque. His account books show that he painted 1554 miniatures.
