  • The Virgin and Child are shown at full length, seated on a stone seat against a dark background. It is a full-sized copy, probably from the seventeenth century, of the Virgin of the Rosary painted by Murillo in c. 1650-1657, which was aquired by Charles IV of Spain before 1788 and is now in the Prado Museum. Like another version of this composition at the Palazzo Pitti in Florence, the Wallace Collection version does not include a rosary.
