  • Vamplate, for the field or light joust, of the usual form, relatively small in size, the border decorated with two circular bands, the wider outer band containing interlaced strapwork, the inner narrower band filled with ornament involving stylised clouds on a closely granular ground, etched and gilt.

    The distinctive form of the decoration corresponds with that found on an armour in the Museo Stibbert (no. 3480) in Florence.
