- This picture is a typical early work by Wijnants. The right side of the composition is built up, adorned with a dense clump of trees. By contrast, space is created on the left of the painting by the panoramic landscape, criss-crossed by lines of trees, edges and meandering ribbon-like paths. The figures in the work have been attributed to Wijnants himself and to Adriaen van de Velde.
