- Dated c.1853 by Mosby. After fishing unsuccessfully all night, Simon put down his nets at Jesus’s command and made a huge haul. Together with his partners, James and John, he became a disciple (Luke V, 1-11). The painting was admired by Delacroix ('Journal', 21 April 1853).
