  • Cupid handing his cloud-borne mother a golden apple, the prize she had won from the shepherd Paris. Originally the top and bottom edged were curved, indicating that the work had been painted as an overdoor. It was later made up into a rectangle. The painting probably formed a pair with P423 and would have decorated the same room. The stiffness of the figures and weak drawing suggest that the painting was mainly produced by Boucher's studio.
