  • Copied from one of the series of twelve views of the Grand Canal painted by Canaletto c. 1728 – c. 1734 for Consul Smith, engraved by Visentini in 1735, and sold by Smith to George III in 1762 (Royal Collection). This appears to have been copied from the picture as the colours are closely imitated, and so was probably painted before the original left Italy.
