- The Madonna of the Cherries is one of a series of copies that Teniers was commissioned to make for engravings to illustrate the Archduke Leopold Wilhelm’s collection of paintings. This painting is after an early masterpiece by Titian now in the Kunsthistorisches Museum, Vienna. It was one of a number of pictures by Teniers in the Duke of Marlborough’s collection at Blenheim, described by Vertue in 1740. It was acquired by Sir Richard Wallace in 1886.
